What to get your Preschooler for Christmas: My Top 5 Picks 2019
What to get your Preschooler for Christmas? I have a 3 year old boy and an almost 5 year old girl – they are at the age where they want everything and nothing at the same time?! They aren’t at the age where they are able to articulate a list, but still have pretty high expectations from Santa.
So it took me a bit of research to find presents for both individually and together that they might actually get use of! I love the idea of getting something they want, need, to read, and to wear. I also am all for adding some learning value to gifts for my kids!
While, some of the listed gifts are definitely more geared towards the “want” category, I am making a conscience effort to add activity driven, learning value to some of the gifts my kids will receive!
Hopefully these gifts provide some inspiration for your little ones!

1. Vtech Myla the Magic Unicorn
Unicorns are not going away and they are hotter than ever this year. As soon as my daughter saw it in the Toys R Us flyer, she immediately asked Santa for this interactive unicorn. Myla sings, plays games, and even changes colour in her horn, eyes, and wings (hello learning value!).
2. Furreal Pax My Poopin Pup
Along the same lines as Myla the Unicorn, this Furreal dog is interactive. I intend to give this little creature to my son, and it will surely create hours of entertainment walking it in circles and picking up his poop! I might even have to get my daughter one so they don’t fight over who gets to “walk the dog.”
3. Kunmark Building Set and Game
STEM learning toys are not only all the rage these days, but actually encourage kids to develop skills in the core disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The reviews on this building set are promising, with 4.6 stars out of 5 from 55 reviewers. Teaching kids to sit still and concentrate is hard at any age, but this set hopefully start to teach my kids this valuable skill!
4. Anything Toy Story 4 or Frozen 2 Related
This is the first year that my kids got caught up with the latest movies and trends, and wow – these two movies are dominating the toy market!
My son is obsessed with Buzz Lightyear, so I am getting him this action figure that walks and talks:
I took my daughter for her first movie at a movie this last month, guess which one? Ha, yes of course it was Frozen 2! She has way too many dolls as it is, and is just starting to learn how sight-read, so I thought this would be perfect for her:
5.Wooden Train Set
This gift is a classic, I mean what preschooler doesn’t like trains! while it is going to be geared towards my son’s interests, I am gifting it to both kids. I am hoping it will be an activity they can play with together (quietly and without fighting preferably!).
